Know the Details of JNVST Class 6 Exam
What is JNVST?
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Education, to admit students to Class 6. This scheme identifies talented rural children in Class 5 to provide them with quality education at JNVs. The exam is conducted nationwide, and students from Class 6 can appear for the exam.
Eligibility Criteria for Class 6
The student should be studying in Class 5 during the academic session. Students who have passed Class VI are not eligible to apply for the JNV Selection Test. The candidate seeking admission must pass from a government-recognized school. The student should be aged between 9 and 13 years. Certain percentages of seats are reserved for students from specific geographical areas, with additional reservations for SC/ST and girl students.
JNVST Class 6 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The JNV class VI entrance test paper will be in objective form (MCQ), divided into three sections:
Mental Ability Test (MAT): Logical reasoning questions.
Quantitative Ability: Questions based on numerical ability and understanding of mathematical concepts.
Language Test: Judges the student's understanding and grammatical knowledge of the chosen language.
The exam lasts 2 hours, with a total of 80 questions carrying 100 marks. There is no negative marking, encouraging students to attempt more questions.
